First Presentation

Presenter: Nick Hadjinicolaou

Presentation Title: Managing organisational disruption through the application of Project Portfolio Management in Australia: Benefits and Barriers

 

Presentation Overview:

Organisations are suffering increasing levels of disruption from new technology, global competition and new business models. Project failure rates continue to be high. This presentation will discuss Project Portfolio Management and how it can help organisations succeed.

Presenter Overview:

Nick is the Assistant Professor and Program Director for the Global Project Management Program at Torrens University Australia.


Nick is a certified PMI Program and Project Management Professional (PgMP, PMP) an IMC Certified Management Consultant (CMC) and completed both an MBA and MPM from the University of Adelaide.

Currently a doctoral candidate in the area of Supporting Project Success in Australia through the Implementation of Project Portfolio Management.

With over 28 years of industry and education experience, previous senior leadership roles have included Portfolio, Program and Project Management, PMO Management, ICT Management and consulting roles for various private and public organisations including IBM, Telstra, 3Pillars Asia Pacific, Business SA, the state government and Laureate Australia.

Projects have included the Sydney 2000 Olympics, the global roll-out of an expense management system into IBM Hong Kong, IBM China, IBM Taiwan and IBM India. Major data center relocations, infrastructure upgrades, agile application development, portal and website developments, change management and business transformations. While at Torrens University he has been involved with a number of projects including research programs, the development of the Master Global Project Management program, capstone projects and development of online platforms.

Second Presentation

Presenter: Yohan De Silva

Presentation Title: Scrum

 

Presentation Overview:

Yohan will provide an experiential learning outcome on real Scrum Delivery.

Presenter Overview:

Project Manager turned Scrum Master and Agile Coach, Yohan De Silva is an Agile Evangelist.

As a Consultant with DWS, he currently acts as the Scrum Master for 3 - 4 IT value streams at SA Power Networks, the electricity distributor for South Australia.

Yohan has more than 7 years of experience in managing projects from simple website developments to multi million dollar ERP implementations.

Yohan is a certified Agile Project Management Practitioner and a certified PRINCE2 practitioner.
He also has a masters degree in ICT Management from UniSA.
Yohan has a passion for communicating knowledge through experiential learning.

He was awarded the Australian Young ICT Professional of the Year award in 2015 for his contribution and commitment to the ICT industry by the Australian Computer Society.
