During our PMI event in May 2017, the DPTI Lead, Kylie O’Leary, the Lead Architect Adam Hannon from Cox Architecture and the Project Manager, Nathan Hawkes from Turner & Townsend presented the business case and vision for the first vertical school in South Australia.

The new $100m Adelaide Botanic High School was delivered on budget and on time. They started operations from term 1 2019, providing 1250 students from inner-city suburbs with greater access to high quality secondary learning. The school started with year 8 students initially, growing to 1250 students by 2022.
Adelaide Botanic High School showcases the best of public education and 21 Century learning, catering for the learning needs of all students through its extensive curriculum offerings. Grounded in science, technology, engineering and maths (STEM), local partnerships and research, our future leaders will also be agile, cooperative, flexible and imaginative. The Adelaide Botanic High School was built around a unique environment explicitly designed to nurture these qualities.

Surrounded by leafy green spaces, botanic gardens and the vibrant Adelaide Zoo, our students will become a vital part of a broader hub of universities, businesses, the museum, state library and performing arts facilities. From this exhilarating vantage point they will unlock the inspiration to view tomorrow as limitless, electrifying and immediate.

Time: Meet in front of the building at 4:45. The doors will open specially for us at 5pm sharp. Finish at 6:30pm
The project manager will take us through the school grounds and showcase some interesting facts about the project and the building.
